We will pay some bills or pay for some repairs on our home. We will put it to good use and not waste it.

You know I really don't think that the average American is looking for handouts. If the government wants to give us a check to help stimulate the economy so be it. If they can waste money on roads to no where and other pork-barreling projects, why does this bother anyone if it goes to the people who pay the taxes? The check Bush sent me went to pay a doctor's bill. I was glad to have it. Yet I worked hard for my pension and keeping a savings. The United States has had public debt since its inception. Reformation is what is needed. This too shall pass, I really believe that.

You may know freeloaders but most of us do not,and have never, ever been freeloaders. Speak only for yourself.
No people have worked any harder than we have to make this country a wonderful place to live and work. I don't know what proud has to do with any of this, we didn't vote on this money, it is being handed to us by uncle sam. We just get to spend it to give the economy a boost. That is what we are being told anyway.
Most of us only get $250.00 not the 5 you talk about.
I had to check back to see just who posed this question and shook my head, ok I thought so. One of two who think many of us are freeloaders We aren't you know, sir, our former occupations are a good example of how hard 99% of us have worked over the years. I wish you love, I wish you peace and I wish you good thoughts.
Source(s): Feeling guilty? No one posted a name you just took to heart your own statments. Sorry you have such thin skin where honest answers asked for and given are then critized. Just because I do not agree with your point of view, does not make me wrong. You asked, I answered. I just read in my newspaper that we do get a check in the mail within 120 days. I will use it to pay bills and hope everyone enjoys this beautiful day. I do respect you but not always your point of view. That is the America that we fight for to keep free. - lilabnerLv 61 decade ago
The $500 is a tax reduction, not a check in the mail. You can't spend it you can just rejoice in the lower tax you will have to pay. The check I got last year went for new tires for my car. Most true Americans are used to hard work and earning their own living.

It will not cause me to work either harder or less. I will not thank the taxpayers as I am one of them. And it won't be in the form of a check, just a tax credit. It will merely free up that much to pay my bills with.

The US is not looking for handouts...they are looking for jobs. It's about time that the government took a long hard look at things and start to turn this economy around .

As a tax payer I'll be happy about any cut I get. It was money earned by me to begin with.
- SweethartttLv 71 decade ago
I will be happy to accept anything that the government would provide me. I am on disability now, so would take the money and apply it to my bills.
