it is a 85 ford ranger and i don't know if it has a passenger airbag or not.

no airbag -check with the local fire department or ambulance service regarding the laws in your state. i use the 8 yr old & 80 lbs rule and always have the seat holding the child as far back as it can go.

It depends on the childs height and weight. Yes you can have a child in the front seat of a PU, but I don't know if they can ride in a booster seat or not. Check with your local police and find out from them.
