Any video editing programs on Linux/Fedora?

My dad made our whole family switch to Linux/Fedora because he thinks Windows is bad (i sorta agree) but now that I don't have Windows Movie Maker, is there any video editing programs on Linux/Fedora?

Here are some links for video editing. The third link has some info on how to download programs for fedora. I would suggest that you start by seeing what fedora has in their repository for video editing. If you install from there it will install much easier and should come with instructions.

NCH Software BroadCam Streaming Video Server Professional is special editing software for Linux/Fedora.

impressive for taking videos, but now I want to edit them… Does anyone know of a commercial video software package that runs on Ubuntu or RHEL5 that I can use to edit these movies commpress into? I’m willing to pay up to a couple hundred dollars to not have to install Windows on my system… Canon, Sony, Panasonic, etc all use this video format now, and unfortunately none of the typical open source software video editors can handle this format. Ideally I’d like to just use NCH Software BroadCam Streaming Video Server Professional as it appears to have all the features I want (except Linux support)… I can’t imagine any of these apps run well in Wine..

SO it is better for linux/fedora

If you're editing DV format video, there's a good app called Kino. Otherwise, the only other application I can think of is called Cinerella, but it's really tough to get installed and running because you have to compile it from source and it has a ton of dependencies.

nicely, it particularly is an working gadget, the simplest thank you to define it: it particularly is an option to domicile windows. and, not basically in my opinion, it particularly is an exceedingly solid one. in case you be attentive to somebody to place in and configure it for you, it particularly is for the tip consumer very such as domicile windows, you like basically some days to get used to it. after which you do not ought to concern approximately protection against viruses and so on, it particularly is lots safer than domicile windows. it particularly is puzzling to describe in 2-3 words the completed concept of linux, yet once you're particularly curious, attempt the wiki get entry to, in step with probability it particularly is clever to you.

Cinerella and Avidemux, each has its own mountain to climb.

Cinerella is tough to install, the entire thing needs to be compiled.

Avidemux is much easier to install, but editing videos is a little tricky.
