Belly Button Pierced Wrong?
My very first piercing I went to a shop I had never been to, and being naive about the whole piercing scene, I got a belly button ring and thought nothing of it until now, about nine months later when my boyfriend said that the skin that my barbell is pierced through is way too thin. I don't analyze other girls' belly button piercings so I wouldn't know, but he seems to be sure. What do you all think? I'm terrified of it ripping out... Should I get it redone?
Here is a picture of it:

that is way too thin. what was the guy thinking when he did that, if i was u i would go back and say something to the guy, that's ridiculous and unsafe. obviously that guy is not a professional. that thing could rip out so easily. take it out and go to a different shop, ask to see a piercing portfolio and look at the belly piercing to make sure they pierce it right, here is a link to a decent belly piercing that was pierced correctly.

You need to wait a couple of days. Your belly button ring will probably sit on your stomach kind of funny, because you just stuck a big whole through your skin. Not exactly normal for your body, so it will be irritated from it. I got my belly button pierced last year and there isn't a ton of skin between the whole where the belly button ring goes in and my skin because that's how it's done because otherwise it wouldn't heal for a really long time or it would be too deep into your skin. Give it a couple of days to relax and then see how it feels.

In my opinion, the only "bad" thing that can come from a piercing done too shallow is a higher chance of piercing migration. That means the piercing might move. Also, being shallow, it is easier to rip out if accidentally caught on something.
Also, I do agree that the piercing was not deep enough.

As long as you keep it moisturized you have nothing to worry about. My sister had it done the same way but never took care of it. She found her piercing in her bed 3 months later but the ball bearing was still on it. Her skin between the piercing had calloused and it ripped through. Just make sure you take care of it.

my immediate thought is that it looks like there isn't enough skin there.
HOWEVER
you really should go to a piercer at a different shop from the one you got it done at and get their opinion.
The placement is a little odd but that may just be because of the way that your belly is. GO TO A PIERCER, they will know better than someone on here looking at a picture.

Yes, that is way too little skin. Go to another piercer and speak with them. Make sure it is a good clean place. If they suggest it, take it out, let it completely close and heal, then go back and get it re done. Just be sure to keep up with the sea salt soaks while it heals as it may still get an infection.

Hmmm. Its not as bad as it could be, but i would definatly see about getting it redone if it didnt bother you too much, because eventually it will "push" itself out of the skin (my eyebrow has done it twice)
or it can get caught and rip right out, then you'll never be able to get it pierced again!
Soooo, get it done again to be safe ;)

definitely take it out and get it pierced again. mine was like that and it tore out within the first 6 days of having it, so unless you want your belly button to look to have a gaping hole in it, take it out.

its actually not think towards the surface of your stomach actually but the piece that is pierced that holds the bar is very thin which could cause some problem since the weight would be pulling down on it
