I have done in the past but they didn't rise too well. Went through a phase of buying Auntie Bessies but they are so expensive.
Now luckily my b/f has perfected the art so I let him make them. He uses a little peanut oil and puts it in our metal balti dishes and the oven is at around 220 so it gets really hot.
The last 3 weeks the Yorkshire puds have been fantastic, so well risen. We have them every Sunday not just with beef, the hens just keep laying so its a way of using a couple of eggs up.
Sadly I burnt my arm getting the hot dish out the oven last Sunday so I'll be extra careful today

Until recently I used Aunt Bessie's, but being a Yorkshire woman it felt like cheating.
I experimented with several recipes until I found the one I use now which is 2 oz plain flour, 2 eggs, 2.5 fl oz milk, & salt & pepper (sometimes add herbs or grated horseradish or onion to suit whatever they are being served with). It has to be made and left to stand for at least an hour before it's cooked.
I always use beef dripping in the muffin tins which has to be really hot before you put the batter in. It makes 6 or 7 delicious, puffy, light as a feather puds.
I'm glad I persevered because we all prefer home made ones now!

No. I've never had it. Any pudding that I eat, I just buy already made at the market.

Of course - avoid buying ready made products at all cost. Much nicer to make home made food.
