I am about to buy a big screen lcd/plasma and need help. What questions do I need to ask? before I buy.?

I think I have my mind made up and will go with the plasma but I heard not to because they waste for energy and will burn pics on the screen. I also heard no on the lcd because the bulbs burn out fast. Also do I need to purchase the warranty since they usually come with a regular one. I have a nice surge protector already do I need to buy a monster one and monster cables ? Help?

If someone told you your going to burn images into your screen their dumb. That usually only happens if you play video games, and is still rare because there will need to be a constant image on the screen, like a map icon in a game. If you do play games, ask them if that particular tv has a white screen feature, this gets all of those retained images off. An LCD tv will last longer than a plasma by the way so dont listen to whoever said that the bulbs burn out. Plasma tvs do use more energy and they run hotter. To find out what i mean next time your out looking for new tvs touch the screen of a plasma and touch the screen of a LCD. This dosent affect much unless its in a very tight fit are, there needs to be room behind the tv for it to breath. The biggest question is will you be using it in a dark room or a bright room with glare. If dark then yes go with plasma, other wise you might want to take a second look at LCD. Also if you will be watching from the side alot you should lean toward LCD because they have better veiwing angles. Check out these two links they should help alot. Do your own reserch. But most importantly dont listen to that stupid 16 year old down at bestbuy chances are you know more than he does.

  • Don't go with plasma. I would highly recommend LCD, more specifically a Sony Bravia. We just bought a 40" a few months ago and we love it. At first we didn't want to spend the money for a Sony but eventually I went with it and the picture is GREAT! I only have dish network standard service and the picture is really clear. The Sony has multiple input ports including HDMI. Also if you are really ambitious you can hook up your computer tower to it. Imagine reading this on a 40"!

you are able to regulate those settings your self. there is even a DVD accessible to stroll you thru it. or you are able to study up on it on various web pages an persist with their training. Out of the field, the two certainly one of my instruments had many of the settings maxed. One observed because it "bright" and the different "intense vivid". they're production facility set that way so as that they stand out in a vivid coach room. all the instruments have been working a basketball game on ESPN HD on the time, and the save grew to become into out of the instruments I had researched on line. instead of Visios I have been given one forty" Polaroid and a 32" Emerson. the two look super on HD and no issues so a procedures, plus they have been on sale. Oh, i don't likely advise the Emerson for 2 motives. One HDMI hookup, and the distant isn't generally used. No codes for the distant from the two Directv or Uverse might artwork the television. as quickly as we switched to Uverse, the installer programed the quantity administration on the set acceptable field, so for you to use only one administration. you are able to not mute nonetheless. additionally Uverse provided loose setting up + no settlement + my intense speed internet, even if. Video over internet is new technologies, and that they are engaged on some bugs. yet i like it so a procedures.
