Who is running the World Bank now, and why havn't we heard anything in the news about the world bank lately?

Robert Zoellick, a former US Trade Representative and Deputy Secretary of State, is the President of the World Bank. I don't think you've heard much about it because he is a professional career civil servant, and is running a professional operation there. He was not a controversial pick, and most member states breathed a sigh of relief when he came on board, according to the news.

If I was running the World Bank, then I wouldn't tell you, or anyone else. I would set up a president of that company and tell him what to do through a third party, that way, the president wouldn't even know me. That's how I believe it is run. In secret.
