I get a similar issue with my CD player in my car, but the player is like 10 years old, so I've just written it off as age. The car may be a 2008, but do you know how old the CD player is?
You should see if you can check. Also does it happen specifically when you turn the heat on? Something could be loose somewhere and piping hot air into the back of the CD player.

i have never heard of that in my life. my CD player heats up my CD only if its summer and Ive listened to it about 30 times!!! if its an 08 i would bring it back to Mercedes and flip. for the price of that car it should make cd's for you not heat them up
p.s. NICE CAR!!! i love mercedes but they are out of my budget lol

it seems like a fail safe. It's like, when the cd player starts to over heat it shuts itself down to prevent it from burning out. it's just like when your car over heats it shuts itself off!
