Have you ever had an "epic fail" moment?

You've seen all those "fail" pictures of ironically placed signs (and sometimes mistranslated signs), cars crashing into things, people falling off bikes, and sinking boats full of cargo crates (a.k.a the "failboats").

Have you or someone you know did something that needed a FAIL (or EPIC FAIL) tag? Maybe you're looking frantically for your purse when it's safely situated over your shoulder. Perhaps you saw your friend back out of the driveway while knocking over a line of trash bins.

My example is not me but my mom. A couple of weeks ago, she locked herself out of the car with the engine running. Today, she lost her set of keys and didn't have her spare set and I had to come and rescue her with my spare keys. This definitely needs an EPIC FAIL tag (poor Mom was frustrated and got irritated when I brought up the first incident to her).

Update:

Sorry guys, I just can't pick one. It's going to a vote.

Okay, the hardest part about answering this question is choosing which "Epic Fail" to share, because there are oh so many. But here goes.

There was the time, many years ago, when I was at my favorite night club. I was nursing a beer and trying to work up the nerve to ask this particularly hot young lady to dance. I'm not kidding, she was unearthly beautiful, the kind of woman that makes you go weak in the knees. And, no I'd only had a couple so far so it wasn't "beer goggles" she was gorgeous. Anyhow, my wing-man is giving me the pep talk and encouraging me to go ask her to dance when he utters the immortal cliché "What's the worse that could happen?" "She says No? Big deal!" Well the pep talk works and I go over to this vision of loveliness and my friends watch as I discover exactly "What's the worse that could happen?". She nearly fell out of her chair she was laughing so hard. I swear it seemed like even the band stopped playing to watch as I crawled back to my table. Talk about "Epic Fail".

Actually, I have. I used to play World of Warcraft. There are certain instances where the team has different roles to beat the raid boss.

Sometimes not everyone is prepared when the encounter happens. Everyone wants to finish the job and most people know how to play their characters well. There were special instructions for each boss. In most cases they are led by a team of skilled players.

Unfortunately, accidents happen and some people lose internet connections. Some might not have the plan memorized, or possibly leadership wasn't delegating responsibility well enough. In the end I think some people just didn't understand their roles completely. I think it has to do with meeting halfway and seeing how each one can compliment the other. It's how the game was designed and it does promote a type of organizational atmosphere.

On occasion, it might seem like one person could have been responsible for the setbacks. I'm sure everyone's ego might get bruised at that moment, but we all have those moments. We actually called those moments "Epic Fail" in the game. It's why I wanted to answer.

So yes. I was blamed at one time it may seem in the game. There were many factors and I don't know why the teamwork wasn't in tune. Was it just me?

Lot's of questions come up after I decide and wonder if I wasn't pulling my weight. There is always more to learn and others willing to help if you look for them. It's a fun game but I have been taking a break from it for a while now.

I still have all my old epic equipment though. lol

I'll tell you about an epic fail that happened today!

    ...To my step-dad...

He went out fishing and told my mom he wasn't going to come home until he caught at least one fish.

So he came home about four hours later with 20 fish!

They were all in the bucket with ice still alive!

My mom and i were freaking out and filled the sink with water and put them in there to try and save them.

Once they were swimming again, we put them back in the bucket and drove them back to the pond.

My step dad was pissed ;]

Yeah, one of my "fail" moments was when I was at the mall with my friends, while we were walking & stuff, I TRIPPED BADLY.. on a completely flat surface. There wasn't even anything in my way.

    omfg, yes.

in real life, I failed an organic chem course. that was pretty bad.

I was IM-ing someone and I typed ":-" instead of ":->" for the yahoo IM smug emoticon. that was pretty failz.

My mom made pancakes once, and I grabbed the syrup dish and poured it all over my pancakes. Once I took a bite, I realized it wasn't syrup at all... it was used grease from the bacon.

Another time, my BF was working outside in the sun for a couple hours, he came in the house for a drink and grabbed the jug of "water" off the table and gulped quite a bit of it down before realizing it was mixed with bleach I was using to clean the bathroom.

Source(s): lol... the story about your mom is great. Sometimes you just have those fail days.
