What to wear for job interview?
It's a part time job in a pet shop/ garden centre. I thought that going in a suit was a bit OTT, so was going to wear smart jeans/top with smart boots and coat. What do you think?

Yeah, smart jeans is good. I would wear a shirt with those and nice boots. maybe a nice tank top over the shirt if you're that way inclined.
You don't want to look too smart, but also going too casual could make it seem like you're not bothered.
Just be your normal 'you' but a bit smarter.
if you feel comfortable in what you're wearing you will come across much better, more relaxed.

Even though it would be a casual dress position, you should still be dressed nicer than the interviewer. While I wouldn't wear a suit, I would replace the jeans with a nice pair of slacks. The rest of your outfit sounded just fine!

Yeh if you wear a suit they may think that you are like too snobbish and wont want to get your hands dirty!
I would say dark smart jeans, and a plain long sleeved t-shirt.

I would choose a pair of khakis (is that how you spell it) rather than the jeans. That's just me though, your outfit sounds good. Good luck at your interview!!
