if you receive disibilty social security do you also receive retirement social security as well?

    No that would be double dipping

    Once you become eligible for full Social Security retirement you will be switched over as long as your retirement entitlement is greater than your SSDI entitlement.

    The way that benefits are calculated, SSR is always higher than SSDI so it is always to your benefit to switch over.
