Christians; What is the best thing about being a Christian?

Sorry! I have not been able to think of any thing.

Knowing I am always right in spite of massive amounts of evidence which contradict my belief system and, armed with this absolute knowledge of the rightness of my beliefs, the wonderful joy I experience in berating others who, of course, do not share in my truth and who, sadly, are therefore going to hell. And, as it says in Revelation, part of the joy of the `saved' is watching the smoke curl up from the abyss where all the sinners are roasting. Ah it's a HOOT being a Christian, man! What's Dylan say? 'You don't count the dead when God's on your side'? Yeah, and you don't count the many many people you hurt/alienate from even the concept of God/turn off to spirituality as you madly romp about swinging the Bible like a scythe. Oh, and probably the BEST best thing about being a Christian is only reading the parts of the Bible your pastor tells you to read or those passages you find on tracts or the ones pointed out in Bible study or approved of by Chuck Swindoll and his ilk so you never really know what the Bible actually says - only what your church tells you it says. Oh, and you always refer to the last book of the Bible as `The Book of Revelations' whereas it is actually `Revelation' and has no `s' and, yeah, that's also a really great part about being a Christian even though it annoys the crap out of other people with working brains.

THis is a serious answer:

In a secular society, the best thing of being a christian is the vow of sufferring. This gives a hopeful and bright perspective in this troubled world by learning to submit to the limitations of this world. True Christians dont have to arm themselves to get food. True christians dont have to declare religious war if being persecuted.

Real christians know how to deal with earthly problems.

1) Being free from the law. Not being under the law.

2) Not being under the law, and yet, because of the love of Jesus coursing through our veins, we reciprocate this love, and never break the law.

3) Feeling compassion for other people.

4) Feeling love for God and striving to do good for God, by doing good for others.

i could go on and on and each one could be called the best thing about being a Christian.

i am not a christian,but i would speculate that the best thing about being a christian would be feeling secure knowing and having a close relationship with the almighty god himself yes that's the best!!

im not a christian, but i assure you, i know the answer to this question. The best thing to Christians about being Christians is the sense of security that they feel, which is brought about by the oversight of "GOD" in their daily lifes.

I wouldnt consider myself christian yet ivve been raised in a christian family

i think its just believing in something.

I guess there just people who cant think up their own system of belief.

Honestly i think the bible is a great book,

people who take it litteraly take it too far,

I think god is figurative,

and that we should have morals

yet it all seems really weird

it facinates me because its the most credible fantasy ever.

But i guess my imagination is just not that big to fully believe it.

but yeah i think its that thing of living with meaning?

Confess the Lord Jesus and believe that God has raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9-10), that the God of our Lord Jesus may give to you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. (Ephesians 1:17)

The best thing to me is that I can pray anytime anywhere and know that I will be heard by the Father --and that Jesus loves me and knows my heart. I know that when I die, I will go to heaven --but to know He is with me now is the real comfort.

Having God in my life and putting him above all others.Living the christian life and believing that Jesus died on the cross for me and took on all my sins so that I may have eternal life.

It's nice to know that I have God guiding me through life. Especially when times get hard, I have the comfort of knowing he's with me and he'll get me through. It feels really good to depend on him....Also, to learn about his love is the most amazing feeling becasue it's so sureal to comprehend that he loved us so much to go through what he has gone through as a sacrifice, recognising THAT love, he has for us, is the most amazing feeling. There's no stronger love. =)
