Serious question for Christians...?

Jesus told his disciples that he would return in their lifetimes.

Is it possible that he did and it was not recorded, or that the records were lost/destroyed?

Update:

Matthew 16:28 - [To the Disciples] Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

Yes, it is possible. There are several scripts and many scrolls which are known about, but not being revealed to us. They apparently contain information that would overwhelm us should we ever learn of it.

My Pastor talked about this recently and I'll try to explain it as clearly as he did. Matthew was not as concerned about chronology as say Luke, it is therefore significant that the very next verse (17:1) says 'Six days later...' Because Matthew is not very chronologically concerned, the fact that he does so here indicates that the two are connected. The prophecy in 16:28 that they would see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom, is fulfilled 6 days later on the Mt. of Transfiguration incident described in 17:1-13. The Kingdom of God on earth was established at that time and it continues to this day until it's fullest coming when Christ does come back.

Jesus came back, let's say around 900 AD, the time of some seriously corrupt Popes, saw what a travesty his alleged followers had made of his teachings, wept, and zoomed off to a remote galaxy to recover. He is considering his next move.

Oh, a serious question. Serious answer; if Jesus had returned in anything like the manner anticipated in Scripture, not only would this have been picked up, we wouldn't be here now.

Even you misunderstand Scripture. Jesus never told them that He would come back in their lifetime. He even taught us in Matthew 24 on the end times, when this world will be ruled by the Antichrist, which is by the way, just around the corner. All the disciples preached on this truth also, and when reading the Apostle Pauls letters you find this teaching there also.

To be truthful, we are living very very close to the end of this world, so get ready!!!!

The New Testament is a collection of various Greek/Egyptian myths and was written by someone who claimed to know Jesus 300 years AFTER he died.

If you really want to know Jesus study the Gnostic Gospels and texts, the ORIGINAL Christianity.

yeah, he returned and was with them for 40 days before he ascended to heaven. Also, after that he returned in his glorious form to visit John on the isle of Patmos where he was exciled. He gave him the revelations that are in the book of Revelation.
