Which NASCAR drivers have you met?

What event were you at when you met them? Did you get an autograph? If so, what on? If you had time to talk to them, what were they like?

Last year, Kyle Busch came to my wife's school and talked to her kindergarten as well as a few other grades. He also visited her classroom (which she had decorated in a NASCAR theme all year that year) and read books with her kids. I got to go too and got to shake his hand. He signed a 1:64 scale model of his #18 M&M car that I brought with me. He also gave all of her kids signed 3X8 photos. The school gave him a Gene Ward Wolverines polo shirt. The kids asked him some pretty funny questions and he was really nice with them. If you watched the Las Vegas race on Fox last year, you may have seen a few clips of him at her school.

Update:

Met Tony Stewart today. He was helping with a car wash at a local high school. He washed some cars and gave autographs. They gave away ArmorAll t-shirts, many of them signed by Tony. I got my car washed for a donation to the school and Tony autographed a Las Vegas Motor Speedway pennant that I brought with me. It's a big white pennant that has the speedway logo on the top. My wife and I are going to see how many autographs we can get on it while we live in a town with a speedway that has NASCAR races.

Thanks for sharing your stories with me too. Nice to see some fellow Kyle fans on here :)

Lake Speed, Richard Petty, Bobby Hamilton Sr, Joe Nemechek, Sterling Marlin, Morgan Shepherd, Harry Gant, Kyle Petty, Kevin LePage, Ted Musgrave, Ernie Irvan, Ken Schrader.

Autographs from all. Most I met at events in and around the Mooresville NC area. Some I met at their shops. Others I met thru mutual friends at get togethers back in the 90's.

I haven't met alot of the current drivers...just don't get out as much as I used to....just not hip any more....or whatever you younger folk call "hip" now.

    Just an opinion as always.

Many. I go to the hotel bar at the Marriott on Thursday night in San Rafael, CA before qualifying on Friday at Sonoma and have met drivers and team owners. The coolest was Boris Said. In 2005, I met him and a friend gave him her business card. He called her a year later, before the race and took her up on her offer of a tower tour of the Golden Gate Bridge. Well, I got to tag alone. The only bad thing is that show 7 Days was flimming and they wouldn't pay the $10,000 that the Bridge District wanted. But during qualifying and on the show "Inside Nextel Cup" on Monday, he talked about it.

    Pretty cool I thought.

Well I haven't met anyone because whenever I am there none of my drivers are signing autographs. My dad does the safety crew/firefighting in the pits, well during the Camping World East race in the fall, at Dover, Aric Almirola won the race. My dad looked up while he was doing burn outs to see Mark Martin standing next to him. He also spoke to Brendan Gaughn before the truck race aswell.

My dad met Mike Waltrip as well at one of the bar/steak places in dover a couple of years ago too. He is his fav. driver so it was cool.

on account that 1960 I particularly have meet and function the autogaphs of approximately one hundred fifty drivers. From Bobby Allison to Cale Yarbrough, maximum have been particularly cool yet some are such premadonnas that they do no longer look to be very well worth the wait in line. Favorites Darrell Waltrip, chum Baker,Matt Kenseth,Jeff and Ward Burton,Dale Earnhart,Dale JR,Kerry and Kelly Earnhart. The premadonnas Gordon,J.Johnson,Mayfield. yet maximum all of them will provide an autograph.

Mark Martin, Jeff Gordon, and Terry Lobonte. Met them at Rockingham and Darlington. I got the car also signed kinda costs a little but they are nice I think that the cars were kinda expensive, been a few years back.

So far not one of them. We came real close to meeting Smoke & Junior at Bristol but by the time we got to where they were signing autographs, they were gone. Maybe some day.

Your wife is in Kindergarten!? LOL! I'm just making a joke, a bad one at that.

I met Robby Gordon. He was signing autographs during a Nationwide race that he wasn't in at MIS in 2003. BTW, he's quite good looking in person.
