No, her contract expired in 2004(when whe originated the role on broadway, then she went on to the west end). The other answer was wrong. she did not go out of the show because of her back. she broke a rib or two during the melting scene. this was in her 2nd to last show. shoshana bean replaced her. now there have been many elphabas in the broadway production of wicked, but the current one is Nicole Parker( from MADtv).

Wicked was sweet! I saw it in 2004 in New York with Idina and Kristin. Now Idina has moved on to other projects, but I bet it's still amazing! :)

No. She was in England a few years ago when she got an injury while "melting". She stopped after that.
