Is there a way to prevent take away food outlets from posting leaflets through my letterbox?

I live in a small block of flats and not only do they pin menus to our noticeboard they also post them through our letterboxes. How can they be stopped?

Put a sign on your door - "No Flyers" - but then, the sort of people who deliver them tend not to be able to read or speak English so short of sealing your letter box there's not much you can do to stop them - but, as somebody has already suggested, you can always put them back through the door of the offending concern - but remember, you must NOT have used them as toilet paper first................

    It says here..........

Having a small and annoying dog who likes to bite any fingers venturing through the letterbox worked for me.

God i know how you feel, i must get at least 3 of these bloody leaflets sent through my door each day it drives me crackers. My neighbour says she just waits til the postman comes in the morning and once he's been she tapes the letterbox up so they can't put them through the door when they come in the afternoon! Don't know how successful this is though....

Or like Lee Evans says on his sketch show, save them all, and put them in an envelope with some dog cr*p and send them back along with a note saying 'you send me some of your cr*p so i'm sending you some of mine!'. Hahaha, if only we could get away with that! xxx

rip them into small shreds then post them back to the offending outlets but don't put a stamp on the envelope or else put them back through their letterboxes or empty the shreds on their counter.

Make a small sign saying NO JUNK MAIL and put it on your letterbox. That works for me.

Dont get annoyed by them just tear them up.

And put the pieces in the bin.

I used to love getting leaflets just so i could rip them into tiny pieces.

They can't - specifically since there's not just you to consider, perhaps the others want the take-away menus.

I know how you feel, I used to get handfuls of the damn things every week. Just bin them, or better, recycle them.

Do what I did - gather them all up every week until you have a carrier bag full and then dump them on the floor of the shop, whilst telling them NOT to deliver them to you again.

BUT, bear in mind mate - they are trying to make a living as well in these times.

Just recycle them in your curbside bin and when they begin to make profit again on the market the council will make a profit.
