No. Faith is what got humanity into the mess that we are in. Faith promotes one of the most unfortunate bad habits of human beings: wishful thinking. I believe that if mankind had taken the route of logic and pragmatism a few thousand years ago, we would have learned to live together, enjoying our differences rather than fighting about them. Perhaps we would have discovered cures for every disease by now. Maybe by now we would have explored a lot more of outer space than we have.

Instead we fell into the trap of religion and "faith" and bickering about it. That's what is sad, my friend.

I'm deeply saddened by the amount of religion in this world, and by the deaths of tens of thousands of people over the centuries, killed in the name of one sky-god or another. It's really sickening.

I'm actually looking forward to the end of faith and the beginning of the real world.

There is a lot of faith in the world... it is just not necessarily in what you think is right is all. But people have the right to have faith in what they believe is right EVEN if it isn't YOUR religion that they believe in.
