How many people actually think the "stimulus" plan will work?

Don't forget the vermin that Pelosi wants to save in the Bay Area and all the dough going to ACORN.

People who think that dough will actually stimulate the economy are idiots.

If the stimulus plan works, that means that borrow and spend is the solution to economic problems. Now you liberals and Obama groupies are going to say "Yes It Will", so lets follow that for a moment. I am deep in debt, unable to pay my bills, creditors at the door, now to correct all these problems I should go to all my neighbors and borrow an extreme amount of money, then go on a shopping spree and buy everything I ever wanted, and I will have no more financial problems. Needless to say Obama massive spending bill that they call a stimulus bill is not going to work. All it will result in is us being deeper in debt.

No. It'll make things worse. With an increased deficit and fewer bond buyers the U.S. is limited to two choices. Increase taxes or print money. Increasing taxes takes money out of the economy and printing money increases inflation. This stimulus package now will probably take decades to pay off and Obama wants more money.

I need to look at details of each spending.

What I saw is people cherry picking items out of some packages.

For an example, lets suppose there may be some 10 million allocated to some program in science education designed to hire more science teachers, develop more curriculum...etc..etc. Including lot of things.

But---someone will just say so and so is spending 10 million to teach 7th graders how to set fire on stick.

I've seen this type of criticism and its fairly common.

And some of these odd spendings do create jobs. Also Obama administration is to set up online website where people can track where spending goes.

Also the last depression occured because gov did basically nothing to prevent it.

We're trying to avoid depression. Theres big difference between trying to prevent depression and trying to get out of one. We're not in depression yet.

And people are getting extra cash on their pay checks, with reduced tax on it starting early as April.

Stimulus do have designated spending, but also has that tax cut on pay checks to provide little extra cash. It could mean one more dining out at local restaurant, new DVD player, monthly cell phone bill...etc.

While I'm not sure if it'll work out all too well, bee harvesting is perfectly legitimate and important. For all we know, the produce from the bees could make up for the $280,000 spent on the harvesting of them.

And why do people treat tax raises as something evil and wrong? Sometimes we all have to hunker down to fix the problem.

It's sure going to "stimulate" the country's path to bankruptcy. The sad part of the whole thing, is that the same people who voted Barry into office, still can't see the true scope of the damage his policies are causing with our economy.

I know this will be a disaster...I would love to sit here and say this is all great for the sake of unity, but this administration is spending like its going out of style and when wealthy folks have had enough abuse, they will simply leave...guess who is getting the bill for this fun filled package in reality? WE ARE...every day citizens and when our economy is in the toilet to begin with, paying it back will be an even worse scenario. Dont even get me started on the inflation...

You are correct too...FDR's solutions kept this country in the dumps far longer than it should have been.

I think the whole plan is a mistake and a waste of money i wish they would have never passed it, but part of me hopes that with all the smart people "assuming" that worked on it, it must do some good maybe they know more than we do

As said before it will work as intended, the intent is to push us into a depression that only liberal socialism can save us from, well at least that's what they will tell us as they take our freedom from us and turn us into sniveling dependent blobs. It will be similar to the matrix we will work to power the government and nothing more.

The stimulus plan is working, it is designed to redistribute wealth, it will do that, it will take ot from everyone, and give it to government agencies to get people hooked on government.. if you are depend ant on government, the More goodies you get from the government make you more likely to vote for that government.. simple, if you personally fare better under Obama's plan, then you will vote for Obama and the democrats next time around, and if you fare worse usder Obama you will vote for his opposition next time around.
