If God is all-knowing, why didn't He know where Adam was when Adam hid?
In Genesis 3:8-9, it says God was walking through the garden of Eden and said to Adam "Where art thou?", because Adam was hiding due to the shame of his nakedness. If God is all-knowing, shouldn't He have known where Adam was and known when Adam and Eve had eaten from the tree of knowledge of good and evil?
angel, Adam did confess and yet God still punished them. Adam might as well have lied to God.

God already knew where Adam was and what they did, but He wanted them to confess their sin to Him.

God knew where Adam was and what he had done. He wanted Adam to tell Him those things. Adam did lie. Adam did not confess he was wrong, he blamed it on the woman. He blamed it on God because He gave him the woman. God wants us to come to Him in confession and repentance. Not just start to make excuses when we get caught.

God did know where they were, he went right to them and then called them out of hiding. Lying to God is never a good idea. It was bad enough that he tried to pass the blame onto God by blaming God for giving him Eve.

I've heard that that line can be interpreted as "what are you doing?" I'm not entirely sure myself.
