what do u do to talk yourself into taking your meds?

i hate them i hate them. it is still hard to concide that i need them. comments?

    It is hard to take them, I agree, especially if you have a mental disorder that is permanent, so you will have to take them forever. Probably you should talk to a therapist about this. If you have a disorder severe enough to take meds, you should also be seeing a therapist - reserach shows people get a lot better, and get there much faster, if they do both meds and therapy. I really hate the meds because so many of the bipolar meds cause weight gain or drowsiness. But honestly, I have never been able to find meds to help me, after trying like 25 of them, and if a drug would help me, I would take it. I am in hell on a daily basis, over 1/2 of the time. I am suicidal almost every day, for hours. If you relapse worse, I guess that will be a spur to keep taking the horrid pills. Everyone hates them. Some of us need them, though.

    I know that I need them so I take them. I don't like the alternative

    If I don't take my meds, I don't sleep. If I don't sleep I can't function. If I can't function I get stressed. If I get stressed I suck at everything. If I suck at everything I get more stressed. I need to go take some meds...

    this ALWAYS works for me.....I remind myself of how bad I'll feel if I don't take them.....works every time!
