Which is better, working out one muscle group once per week or twice per week?

For instance, right now my workout schedule is

Monday-back/biceps

Tuesday-chest/triceps

Wednesday-legs/shoulders

Thursday-back/biceps

Friday-chest/triceps

I'm wondering if I might see better results and gain more strength by concentrating only on one muscle group per week. Perhaps,

Monday-Biceps

Tuesday-Chest

Wednesday-Legs

Thursday-Shoulders

Friday-triceps/back

or something like this.

So will I see more results and gain more strength by fully concentrating on one muscle group once per week because I'm FULLY CONCENTRATING or will twice a week give me more because I'm doing MORE work on it.

While there are some tried and true general principles to weight training, trial and error is normal when dialing in a routine that works for you. I wouldnt be surprised to see you get results by doing both.. by doing it twice a week for a month, then once a week for a month with more intensity.
