It sounds like implantation bleeding. When the egg attaches its self to the uterus wall it can leak a little blood. Since you said your are sexually active, its possible that you just became pregnant. Congrats.. Take a test when you miss your period.. Gonna have to tell your mom now.

If you've had sex in the last 12 hours or so this could be the cause of it, particularly if you feel a little tender.

If it happens again perhaps you could visit a womens health centre or an ER and request that y our parents are kept out of it. Most doctors understand that some girls just can't discuss things with their mums and/or dads and are very helpful.

It could be implantation bleeding. That is where the baby implants it's self to ur uterus. Many girls think that it is there period! But it doesn't last long at all! I would definatley get a pregnancy test!

If you are not prego it could have been from vigorous sex... and a blood vessle could have bursted in your vagina (no biggy)!

if you really think something is wrong with you you can't be afraid of your mom. you can always find the number to your doctor on the internet and talk to her and see if she is concerned before you present it to your mom. plus you can always talk to your mom and tell her your having period troubles, not even mentioning being sexually active. but in the long run if there is something wrong you need to get help regardless of how your mom will react. good luck girl

OMG There is no reason to think you're pregnant if you've been having safe sex. Jeez people.

If you haven't been having sex long, you may have gotten stretched down there and you might have gotten a small tear or something. Or, if he fingers you, he may have scratched you a little with the tip of his fingernail.

As long as you're having safe sex - making him use a condom, not letting him come inside you, etc. - you should be o.k. Don't freak out and think you're pregnant like people here are saying with so little evidence. Alarmists.

That being said, you should try to get some birth control. I know you can't get it from your doctor because of your mom. But may planned parenting clinics have free birth control, or can tell you where to get it. See if there is one in your area.

if it's not that time of the month and your bleeding, obviously something is wrong. you should get it checked out, its not worth all the other risks that come with you not getting it checked.

you could always say your sick and she can take you and then have her wait outside. just ask the doctors to not tell her. you have that privilege.

spotting in between periods can be normal, especially if you are sexually active. if that is your only symptom, you are probably ok.
