Question for Muslims regarding bodily ascension?

You believe Jesus ascended bodily into the heavens and that Muhammad rose bodily on a winged horse. Why did Muhammad need the horse when six centuries earlier Jesus had done the bodily ascension without equine assistance?

Personally I find both stories unbelievable, but I was curious about the rationale for the discrepancy.

It's not mentioned how Jesus was ascended. Besides, I don't see a problem that Mohammed was ascended with horse (btw, in Hadith there's no mentioning of horses. It was a creature called Al Boraq) and Jesus was ascended however. Knowing that God "Allah" permitted the ascension, Im not concerned with the details.

That you don't believe it, it's up to you.

Hi well Id say you're better off asking in the Ramandan section.

What I do know is that Shia and Sunni strains split within a generation after the death of Mohammed, over disputes about succession. Doctrinal differences are not great, but bitterness and persecution can be extreme. (eg under Saddam Hussein in Iraq)

There is also Wahabi Islam and Sufi Islam. Wahabi Islam adopts a much more hard-line interpretation of the Qur'an and Hadith, and indeed added requirements such as the covering of women and prohibition on them driving cars. The excesses of the Taliban in Afghanistan originated in Wahabiism, as does the al Quaeda terror campaign against the western world.

Jesus was lifted by angels and raised to 4th sky. There he waits for returning to earth.

Muhammad was offered a horse from paradise which flied at super fast speed. I do not see any contradiction in the two events.

You may not believe any fact you choose not to, but that does not change the fact. Soon Jesus will return to earth and he will explain how he was raised to sky. People like you will still be suspicious about his being real and will lose the last chance of salvation.

    I am a Muslim.

    1) Jesus according to us is a prophet of Allah. He didnt get crucified or anything. He was simply taken to Heaven and some other human similar looking to him was crucified.

    2) Muhammad we believe is the Last Prophet Of Allah, after him no prophet or messenger will come till Day of Judgement. The horse you are talking about is actually like a donkey/mule. I dont know the correct defenition of it. He rode on the Horse because to see the Heaven. Well, every prophet has a different story so all cant be same can they? For example, Prophet Dawood (David) in Islam had a very sweet voice, Prophet Ayub in Islam had great patience. Prophet Adam was 60 arms/90 feet in height. Prophet Yusuf was beautiful. Prophet Jesus cured others and performed miracles by the will of Allah.

I understand non muslims wouldnt believe it. Our world has changed and so is our thinking. But I believe it because I have natural love for islam since couple of months because all puzzles fit together .

All the prophets Message were same ---> To believe in One God and Worship Allah ALONE, and to believe in Muhammad as last prophet and messenger of Allah

Actually Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) didn't need a horse he was taken by the Angel Jiberael for some part of the journey while ascending the skies but then a time came when even the Angel couldn't go further because it was very near to God and no one could go there but still Muhammad (pbuh) was able to go ahead all by himself.

The story of Muhammad (may peace be upon him) is a different debate altogether, but let me brief you on what the Bible says about the ascension of Jesus.

    Excerpt:

One of the most serious of those "grave defects" which the authors of the RSV had tried to rectify concerned the Ascension of Christ. There have been only two references in the Canonical Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and of John to the most stupendous event in Christianity — OF JESUS BEING TAKEN UP INTO HEAVEN. These two references were obtained in every Bible in every language, prior to 1952, when the RSV first appeared. These were:

4a. "So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was TAKEN UP INTO HEAVEN, and sat down at the right hand of God."

    (Mark 16:19)

4b. "While he blessed them, he parted from them, and was CARRIED UP INTO HEAVEN."

    (Luke 24:51)

Now please look at the image below, which is a photo copy where the quotation 4a above ought to appear. You will be shocked to note that Mark 16 ends at verse 8, and after an embarrassing expanse of blank space the missing verses appear in "small print" as a footnote at the bottom of the page. If you can lay your hands on a RSV 1952, you will find the last six words of 4b above, i.e. "AND WAS CARRIED UP INTO HEAVEN" replaced by a tiny "a" to tell you to see the footnote if you please, where you will find these missing words. Every honest Christian has to admit that he does not consider any footnote in any Bible as the word of God. Why should the paid servants of Christianity consign the mightiest miracle of their religion to a mere footnote?

you will find the image of the link given below. it's a small booklet titled 'Is Bible the word of God?' if you are a true christian, you should read this book and come up with a reply that disproves what it claims. peace.

whilst Muslims quote a passage from the Bible(that's corrupted) pointing out that Jesus did not die, they might desire to additionally quote many different passages in a similar Bible that prophesied the demise of Jesus. in actual certainty, Jesus got here to die and be resurrected and without this act, there may well be no Christianity on the instant. that's unlike Islam whose followers unfold their faith with the help of conquering human beings and compelling them to become Muslims. you spot, After Jesus grew to become into crucified and buried, his followers have been broken and concealed faraway from the known public trembling with concern. the religion grew to become into lost. even nonetheless after Jesus confirmed himself resurrected from the lifeless, power grew to become into renewed and the disciples boldly and fearlessly went coaching the gospels to each corner of the easy international. Even the Quran says that Jesus died and ascended into Heaven yet Muslims ignore approximately that verse. Muslims not persist with the Quran; they regularly persist with the Hadiths which not basically makes Jesus irrelevant yet additionally makes their very own prophet right into a monster. each now and then i ask your self juist what Muslims somewhat have faith.

Howevet, prophet jesus birth was miraculous and has been compared to that of Adam (AS).
