I accidentally dropped my phone in the toilet, will the insurance cover it? PLEASE ANSWER QUICKLY!!!!?

I have ATT.

I dropped my phone in the toilet and it has water damage on the screen, and when i turn it on, i get the ''blue screen of death''. (my phone is the samsung eternity).

I have the insurance on it in case something happens to it. But my dad said they wont cover it if there is visible water in the phone.

Just wondering if anyone has had a simillar problem, and if the insurance on the phone covered water damage. And what ordeals you had to go through....

PLEASE ANSWER QUICKLY!!!!!

I don't think insurance covers it because there's water damage and they can instantly tell by your SIM card.

    It says it is covered:

    Copypasta from ATT website:

    *

    $4.99 monthly premium

    *

Incidents Covered: lost, stolen, accidental damage, liquid damage, and mechanical or electrical failure after the manufacturer's warranty period has expired

    *

Deductible: Effective Nov. 3, 2008 per the terms of your new Insurance Coverage Certificate, each replacement phone is subject to a $50 or $125 non-refundable deductible per approved claim depending on the phone model

    *

Limits: Two claims within any consecutive 12 months, with a maximum replacement value of $1500 per claim

    *

Claims may be fulfilled with new or refurbished replacement equipment and may be a different brand, model or color than the covered equipment. Compatibility with current accessories and features is not guaranteed.

    *

You may cancel coverage at any time for a pro-rated refund of the monthly premium

    *

NOTE: Please keep a copy of your original purchase receipt and/or proof of purchase for your insured equipment which may be required to fulfill your claim.

Insurance & warranty DO NOT cover water damage. The repair cost will very close to the price of a new phone. It's time to buy a new one.

It depends on your coverage, but I know that all cell phones have a substance in them so they can tell if it was underwater at all. It will not be covered by a warrenty, but insurance could be different.

Girls seem to drop their phones into water more than guys. I had a GF drop one in a toilet and they were able to fix it because she got it out fast. Ick !

It doesn't pay for water damage.

Open the back where the battery is, there should be a little white space, if that's pink/redish then then its not covered in the insurance.

Same thing happened to me, luckily before I used the loo! I thought I was screwed but took it all apart, left it to dry and it works fine now. Give it a day or 2 before panicking.
