Computer networking issues...?

Please help me fix my networking problem. Here are the facts:

1. Four computers, all running XP Pro/SP3.

2. All stations on same workgroup

3. Simple file sharing turned OFF on all stations

4. Can see all stations in workgroup

5. Cannot access each other in browser; error msg: "\\(name) is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource..."

6. I AM the administrator and logged on as such at each station

7. Using Westell 327W router via Verizon DSL

8. Two stations connecting via ethernet cable, two via wireless

9. Guest accounts turned OFF on all stations

10. Cannot ping on some, can on others

11. Windows firewall turned OFF on all stations

12. All stations running McAfee Anti-virus but no other similar software

13. In sharing/security tab, cannot see other computers to manipulate permissions

14. NetBIOS over TCP/IP enabled on all stations

15. Internet connection works on all stations

16. All users have unique accounts at each station

17. Each user's login/password is identical at each station (but not to each other, of course)

Update:

18. "Routing and remote access" disabled on all stations

Update 2:

ok...I configured the McAfee firewall settings to accept file sharing, which has somehowe allowed me to ping all computers now.

NOTE: I don't have the IP addresses static yet.

Let's call the stations 1 through 4, for now. I'm trying to access a single folder on Station 2 from all other stations. Here's what I get:

1 to 2: OK

3 to 2: Access denied to folder (at least I can see it now).

4 to 2: Access denied to folder (at least I can see it now).

Update 3:

I tried going into sharing and security for the folder I'm trying to share and I can't see other locations to add specific permissions.

Update 4:

Just tried assigning static IP addresses, but couldn't figure out how to disable DHCP or to reassign the IP addresses when into the router's administrative functions.

Need more details. What is it exactly that you are trying to use on the other computer? You may have to share something on the host computer before you'll be able to view it from the other computers.

For starters I would recommend setting all the computers ip addresses statically. .1 .2 .3, etc.

i do no longer think of you're able to desire to connect remotely to it. i could map apersistent to the area the place the mp3's placed. you're able to desire to then have the means to play those data from the computing gadget the place your audio gadget are placed.
