If a realtor were to have an extra 1% commission added to his fee, would that make the realtor work harder?

I hate dealing with all realtors. I believe they are the scum of the earth. With that being said, do you think if extra money was offered to them, would they foucs more on my house than other listings? I am looking to put my house on the market in a few months with the intention to sell it by the summertime. I am thinking about adding a 1% bonus to the pie if the house gets sold in a month.

Not without putting it in writing.

I think it's a great idea to put it into a contract, extra 1% if sold within this timeframe.

    Good Luck!

As a long time real estate broker, if I knew your stance and you came to me for assistance, I would refuse your listing, regardless of the commission percentage you suggested. Do I want to work with clients who regard me as 'the scum of the earth' ? Not a chance.

Will you find an agent who will take on your offer ? Probably, and it should include heavier levels of advertising and promotion. Will that find you a buyer more rapidly ? Probably not.

You need to seriously reconsider what a real estate agency offers, and then guide your choices accordingly.

Thats a stupid idea. You're right realtors are the scum of the earth.

LISTEN: Your house is not going to sell any faster. See it yourself on Craigslist. When I look to buy something, the 1st thing I do is look on Craigslist
