bacalaitos fritos not frying right?

Why are my bacalitos spreading into pieces when i drop the batter in the oil?

    The oil needs to be heated at med/high heat and HOT before dropping the bacalaitos by the spoonful into the oil.

    This is the key with any frying. Oil must be hot!

    Try turning up the oil just a little and add some more flour to the mixture to stiffen it up a little bit.
