How do I install a new kitchen faucet?

My current one is a single long spout. On one side there's a sprayer and on the other side there's the temp adjustment handle. These three componants don't share a fixture base. I think this means I have three holes at the top of my sink. Am I stuck with always having this kind of faucet set? What do I use to cover up the holes?

You can install a single spout faucet if you desire. When you go to purchase a new faucet it will come with a cover plate to cover up the other holes. If you do not want to use your separate sprayer any more you can buy a soap bottle to replace the sprayer and block up the hole. The options are only limited by the number of products on the market.

I would suggest you go to the "Faucet Store" (any home center or hardware store) or search on line for the new look you want. Then you can take your old faucet out (assuming you have shut off valves below the sink) and put in your new one.

I install new faucets for homeowners all the time, they don't think they can do it themselves. If you don't have shut off valves, then you should hire a professional, but if they are there you can do it yourself.

It depends on the spacing. most sinks have 3 or 4 holes. and 3 are covered by the plate on the bottom of the faucet. measure the distance between the holes and there diamiter and compare it to new sinks at the store. It will probably be the same. you will probably have to drill a new hole for the sprayer or get a faucet with the sprayer built into the faucet

it look likes that you are having a trouble with your faucet set. which come with 3 holes. For the easier way, i think you should used a pipe cap (with thread) that can easily to close the problems but it would look wrong or not nice for your sink. Other than that, you should think or select the sink correctly so you will not face a same problem again.

There is a website that have give several tips for your sink that i have found:

    or

i hope that i have resolve some of your problems

I just changed one like you describe out. Get a set that has the knobs and spout in one base. The new base should cover the three holes that are in the sink.

They sell little caps to cover those extra holes. Just ask the associate in plumbing at your local hardware store. Below are some helpful links.

You can use a soap dispenser for one and a water spigot for the other.
