I think copper is generally used for solar heating of water but I don't see why plastic could not be used.But why would you drink it,anyway?You're not using this water to brew coffee are you?.Usually,it's for showers and such.At any rate,most public water supplies have a certain amount of calcium in them,which after a period of time,coats the inside of pipes.This would prevent the water from coming in direct contact with the plastic,which probably really is not carcinogenic anyway.BK
