Tongue piercing Vs. Lip piercing... Which hurt more?

ONLY FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE BOTH DONE!!

Okay, so I want to get my tongue pierced, but I'm a bit nervous... I already had my lip pierced... Actually my friend Kimme did it for me on our lunch break from school. We went to my place, and she had a professional piercing needle. We boiled water, dropped te needle in, sterilized it for five minutes. Placed it in a shot glass, poured hydrogen peroxide over it, wash our hands, pulled it out, dried it with a napkin, put some Vaseline on it.(It's supposed to make the needle slide through better.) And she pierced me lip. Apperenately I have stretchy lips, because my lip gave her the worse time of her life. She said it stretched so far before the needle even poked through the back of my lip. She's pierced quite a few lips, and said this has never happened to her before. When I got her to pierce my ear shortly after, same thing. Lol. She also had a really hard time getting the ring in... But not once did I wince. Even when I had to change the ring the day after it was pierced, and the second day after it was pierced. Anyways, it never got infected, neither did my ears.

Just wondering, which hurts more? Lip or tongue? Or what would you compare the pain to?

Update:

Oh! No. Gawd no, I'm getting it done professionally, and the piercing studio I'm getting it done at, the piercers have a medical background.

ive had my lip pierced 3 times, and my tongue done once,

    and lip definately hurts more.

when i had my tongue pierced, i never noticed him do it. Doesnt hurt at all, and i have a really low pain threshold

however, it is harder to get used to, but after a couple of days itll be fine

if you can put up with your mate piercing your lip, youll have no problem doing your tongue

Lip hurts more for the actual piercing. But the tongue hurts more during healing... It can take weeks to heal, and if you don't religiously use Glyoxide and Listerine the pain can come back anytime. Also, tongue rings can rub up against the back of your lower teeth causing receding gums. To fix that, that SOB operation of pulling back your gums to clean the teeth inside hurts like a son of a biatch! So yes... Tongue rings hurt way more. To anyone who wants one use metal 90% of the time. The acrylic and fancy ones cause more friction against the gum line. The metal ones are safer.

I would say that the actual piercing part wasn't bad but for the healing process my tongue hurt the most, it swelled really bad and i couldn't eat for a whole week, but my friends tongue didn't swell at all so i guess it just depends. Good Luck!

please dont let your friend pierce your tongue. its a dangerous game with all the veins and nerve endings in there! all professional piercers take many weeks learning the the vasculatory system and nervous system before they start to pierce. honestly.

and for the record neither hurt but the tongue swells up something terrible on the third day

Source(s): piercer and have them done
