x^2 + 12xy+32y^2

how would you do it and what would the answer be.

    x^2 + 12xy+32y^2

    (x+4y)(x+8y)

    the answer to what? simplify? if so then here you go:

    1) make a chart

    2) guess and check

    i suggest the chart, but everyone is different

    so in one column, put the factors of 32 and all of its pairs. for example:

    (ill use * as multiply)

    1*32

    2*16

    4*8

    then you see which ones will equal 12

    1+32=33

    2+16=18

    4+8=12

    then those are your two numbers

    so it is

    (x+8y)(x+4y)

    you see! that wasnt so hard

    (x+4y)(x+8y)

    x^2 is x times x so each x goes in a factor

    32y^2 is 8y times 4 y AND when you add them you get the middle number 12
