Did Rush play Obama like an accordion?

Obama gets into office and immediately starts campaigning against a talk show host. He starts giving his talking points/marching orders to the sycophant media badmouthing Rush. He promotes Rush as the face of Republicanism.

Rush responds with the provocative sounding statement that he hopes Obama fails, which set the dogs baying. A real media frenzy. Nearly the only thing they're talking about.

The effect of all this is to drive Rush's audience numbers through the roof and to make it appear that the Obama administration considers Rush to be the most significant member of the opposition party.

Then Rush challenges Obama to a debate in front of his inflated audience. The terms of the debate both preempt objections and highlight Rush's criticisms of Obama. Obama cannot accept the debate, especially under those terms, but any objection either has already been addressed or can be easily conceded to.

Obama's only recourse is to reverse what he has been saying for the last couple weeks about Rush running the party and return to Clinton's tactic of "Rush is just an entertainer"

Nooooo! Playing an accordion requires a degree of subtlety - IMHO he played him more like a xylophone... they get hammered!

I wish Rush would have agreed to debate " The Empty Suit President" on any turf and any where....Rush could mop the floor with him with out his little Teleprompter..... We have a President that can not even introduce a Cabinet Appointment without a teleprompter... that is just so sad... I did not want Clinton but I sure did not want the Empty Suit that we got.... Time will tell and when all the Democrats start losing all they got and that includes their "rights" maybe they will wake up and see the writing on the wall. As has been said so many time "THERE ARE NOT FREE LUNCHES" and the sooner people realize that the better off they will be. Go to work and support yourself.... I did not take you or anyone else to raise....

obama should have never mentioned Limbaugh. It was a childish statement because the repubs did not agree with the destimulus terms. This whole thing has been a distraction from what matters.

If Obama even mentions the word "Rush" its going to give mr limbomb much more press and ratings I'm not even sure how he got into the news 3 days straight like the biggest headline ever. But the guy does have talent and staying power he gets into the headlines whenever he wants it seems. I put rush up there as a shock jock along with Howard Stern but Howard is more successful and more entertaining imo

I don't follow Rush as a leader, but I listened to his speech last weekend and found that he articulated a lot of what I think and feel.

I don't like Obama or agree with anything he has done so far...

The only people who are getting played are the Democrats and Liberals. They are the only people who are "concerned" about what Rush said, and has been saying for years now.

I guess Democrats think their own are pretty dumb.

Are you serious? Are MORE people actually listening to that pompous windbag on the radio?

But seriously, does anyone actually believe that the pres of the usa is actually engaging a radio show host? One who refuses to be interviewed?

Freedom of speech in action. It is funny how some believe it should only work one way.
