I have an 8 month purebred rotty and he HAS a little fleck of white on his chest. It doesnt mean he's not a purebred, just means he doesnt meet Kennel Club standards for showing.

rottweilers can get small white markings (mainly 1 behind each each ear) it does not mean it is mixed it is just seen as undesirable but do be aware these will be very very small amounts they are typically black and tan the darker the tan the more desirable it is also 'pencil' markings on toes are highly desirable.

    so all just depends

look up rottweiler breed standard you will see it all there

read below. this is copied from the AKC breed standard for rottweiler.

it's a SERIOUS fault. so it's either the worst-bred rotty ever, or a mutt.

    Color

Always black with rust to mahogany markings. The demarcation between black and rust is to be clearly defined. The markings should be located as follows: a spot over each eye; on cheeks; as a strip around each side of muzzle, but not on the bridge of the nose; on throat; triangular mark on both sides of prosternum;on forelegs from carpus downward to the toes; on inside of rear legs showing down the front of the stifle and broadening out to front of rear legs from hock to toes, but not completely eliminating black from rear of pasterns; un-der tail; black penciling on toes. The undercoat is gray, tan, or black. Quantity and location of rust markings is important and should not exceed ten percent of body color. Serious Faults--Straw-colored, excessive, insufficient or sooty markings; rust marking other than described above; white marking any place on dog (a few rust or white hairs do not constitute a marking). Disqualifications--Any base color other than black; absence of all markings.

I've never seen a pure rottie with white markings... probably a mix.

Rottweilers are black with tan marksings. They do not have any white markings on them, if they do, their must have been a mix breeding down the line somewhere.

Generally, no. Perhaps you get the odd pup with them, but I would have thought white markings indicated cross breeding.

  • White markings are a serious fault. If the puppies have them, they're either poorly bred or mixed.

some may have a small patch or 2 of white but not a lot of white. If it has it is likely a mix.
