Sorry cant help with this one, the only thing i would do is take to

S Ericson people they will advise you or phone shop . Do hope you can get it sorted.

Take out the SIM card and put it into another cellphone. If contacts are saved to the SIM card they will be there. Otherwise you need to go to a Sony Ericcson repair centre, not to repair the phone, but to get them to retrieve the contacts for you.

If you have the software installed on your computer you may be able to retrieve them. If you don't, you can download the software from the Sony Ericcson website

Have you got a warranty on the phone? If not, take it to a phone shop, and ask them to look at it, i think considering the phone is still working, there is something wrong with the screen, and it needs to be replaced, this can happen if water gets spilt on it, or it gets dropped.

i have had the same thing happen, i took it to my dealer and they took the SIM chip out and they implaced into a new phone and took the data off of it and put it on a new phone, check with your provider, might have to upgrade to a better phone, but it can be done.

It happened to my razor a while back, i dont knbow if its the same but i just gave it a couple of days and it started working just fine.

just get him a new one
