Does anyone have the Magic Jack?
I just received it and it works great, except when the computer goes to sleep, then we lose phone service until we wake up the computer. I am wondering if that is the experience others have had and if so what solutions might there be?
I feel like not letting the computer go into sleep mode is a utility waste, when it isn't being used. Any ideas or suggestions?

I have one and yea I had to remove the sleep mode timer. Don't know anyway around it, the computer has to be awake. I just have the monitor set to turn off after 20 minutes instead.

Why Magic Jack, the one in the Beanstock encountering the magic.
For computer, why need a jack......it is for sound & video system.
Computer does not need to sleep, just switch off or put to standby. If by cable modem , just leave it and off the computer to save power. Tv can be put to sleep and wake-up at the right time as you want for the programme. Computer, no need to do that......the programme is yours.

I have magicJack and it works the way you say. I am perfectly happy to have phone calls go to voicemail when the computer is off or asleep.
The concept that the phone has to be attended to at all times is one carefully promoted since time immemorial by Ma Bell; I don't subscribe to it.
