Can I use acrylic paint to decorate a cd?

I know sometimes people use paper labels on cds and whatnot, I was just wondering if I could use acrylic paint? As long as it's an even layer?

    Chili,

If you use artists' gesso first. That won't matter if it's for something very temporary, but if you want it to last you need to use the gesso. It's like using a primer coat on your walls.
