What about that planned high speed rail line from California to the East Coast? Is it time to build it now?

Would put 4000 people back to work, would stimulate the economy, would add value to the USA once the economy brightened. What is your opinion?

The railroad has been in the planning stages for years but the money was never available. Considering the number of people who travel the highway between the two cities and that both have a good mass transit system in place it's actually a really good idea. It's just sad that the Republicans are trying to claim it's some kind of amusement park ride rather than a necessity.

only 4000? many more. it will never happen in this country. and at $3 million a mile it is too cost restrictive.

i would love to see it happen, but i have to realistic. florida had planned one from miami to orlando and over to tampa. they ditched the plans when it looked like they could get funding.

It is not a practical solution to the transportation plan for the U.S. A system requires a network.

The legal costs alone make it prohibitively expensive. It would become an abyss of corruption no matter how good the idea "might" be.
