how to take grips off?

If someone put some metal grips (or maybe plastic with a metal finish?) on with epoxy, is there any way to get them off?

Most grips are put on with Gorilla snot type of Epoxy---you sure wouldn't want them coming off while riding. You can try a big pipe wrench---if that doesn't work--you will need to cut the grip in half-long ways with a grinder and remove it in two pieces.

If you are trying to save them drop some finger nail polish remover inside the end of the grip around the handlebar. Use something with a pointed bottle to get the polish remover down in there. Now begin twisting the grip back and forth. Just remember to clean it off real good before you put the new ones on or else they will not stay put.

If you don't care to save the grips carefully slit them with a utility knife.

stick an awl into it so you can get the tube of a wd-40 spray can into it and soak the sh!t outta it with wd-40

then twist back and forth as you slide it off

clean it all up and use a spray adhesive to put your new ones on, many use hairspray, but i dont like that they can still twist when they get hot

if they glue them on might try and heat them and use vice girps and tear them off
