I talked to a woman once who was making great money shooting children's sporting events. She just made up some business cards and started going to games and events. She would shoot the players in action and then use a photo sales site like Zenfolio from Mpix.com

It is an easy business to start because anyone with a camera can just go to events. Then you pass out business cards to parents with the web address on it. Then the people go to your wifes site and order prints. The orders are filled and shipped from mpix.com your wife has no inventory and does minimal selling and gets paid for selling through them. I thought it was a great beginner business model. The startup cost is minimal and potential return is great depending on how friendly your wife is and how good she can sell her product.

I have other photography related info on my website in case you are interested.

Start your own blog and pay by paypal.

    This site automates the processes.

You don't have to have your own Web site, or install blogging software, or even figure out how to set up the advertising.

This site can help you automate that process. It worked for me.

To make even more money from it, set up an affiliate program when your recommend products and other stuff from places on the web. Every time you link to a product, you can get a special link that gives you a bounty for your recommendation.

You'll have to get a lot of traffic to become a six-figure blogger, but pick an interesting topic, write well, tell all your friends, and you're off to a good start.

any stock photo sites will do...

usually they only go about 1~5 cents per pic

if she's really talented and creative she can start her own website and sell them there or bring prints/portfolio to local exhibits to see if they'll show her work

Start with a Canon 5D Mark II and maybe do some wedding photography, microstock and perhaps a bit of fine art.
