Where the Red Fern Grows questions?!?

okkk so my stupid ila teacher is making us answers questions BEFORE we even read the book where the red fern grows. ok so the questions are well like what we need to find info on are: ( they are all according to the 1920's)

Why did people hunt raccoons?

Why did people trap animals?

Why did people train animals?

What were the Cherokee Native Americans land rights and where they resided?

Dangers of coming face to face with a Mountain lion?

Protection against mountain loins?

Info on Native American legends

Living on a farm- chores vs. education

Coon hounds- what breed of dog and how the dogs were used?

    These questions aren't answered in the story, I think your teacher just wants you to have this as background information. If it helps your plight any, I really liked that book...

    I They hunted for the fur

    2. Trapped instead of shot so that the fur isn't damaged (like by a gun)

    3. In this book, the dogs were trained to help with hunting.

    7. I think that your teacher wants you to understand something about the legends. Generally, they all have a story behind them. The red fern was from one of the Indian stories.

    8. Chores came first - then learning. I guess the idea was that if you couldn't eat, it didn't matter what you knew.

    9. just wikipedia coon hounds. You'll get all the info you need there.

    on the res. and only in some casino,mountain lions i don't think are protected there are to many and have become a danger they will attack livestock pets people baby's ETC.farm life is hard now days you need some higher education even to do that.blood hound,blue tick hound they are used for tracking bear coons people.hope that helps navy dad007 1 for the fur,for the fur trade ,money,for hunting for a source of income and contest,the are a solvern Nation with their own officials and Consul they do have certain restrictions since they are a nation inside a nation but they also have Special privileges like gambling,casinos. at first they were denied but the won local law officials including government are not allowed on their land even if the are after a fugitive their officials often cooperate and turn them over but they are tried by the nation first now you can be a cherokee fed recognized by the nation and enter other than that you have to be invited in or you can get your self in big trouble.i know, Oklahoma is where the reside its where my dad was born and im german so i can be nice or mean just like that.oh us government does not allow alcohol

    Those sound like GREAT things to learn before reading the book. You will be able to understand the social topics as you encounter them Have fun learning the answers to these questions.
