How can I fix a ruined Lab Coat ?

I purchased a Lab Coat for my husband as a special gift to him. But problem was the sleeves were too long so we took it to an Alteration place to have the sleeves altered. When we got the Lab Coat back the sleeves were WAY too short and the lady who works at the Alteration refuses to fix it. Where can I take my husband's Lab Coat to get the sleeves lengthened and How ??

Write a letter of complaint to the establishment indicating that you need to made whole on this.

Include the cost for a new coat and indicate that you have no other choice but to register a complaint with the Better Business Bureau unless you receive a response within the next 14 days.

Buy your husband a new coat and take it somewhere else to have the sleeves hemmed.

If sleeves are too long, you can shorten. This involves CUTTING away materail. Once it's cut, you can't really fix without making new sleeves unless they have tucked away some extra fabric in the seams and the cuff.

Consider what the coat cost you and how much it will cost to have a tailor lengthen the sleeves. Most reasonable places for alterations tend to be mom and pop dry cleaning places that will do it on the side or send it out to someone who is a "cash" contractor for them...
