Tell me what I should think, I am confused....read on?

I don't know what to make of my friendship/relationship with this guy. I am posting quotes from two separate emails and I just want opinions on what I should think.

Just two weeks ago:

"...Yes we have had our rough times, but no matter the situation or label you have wanted us to have we have always been a couple. I havent dated anyone, talked to anyone, etc. You have had my undivided attention when I havent been busy...Just know that I have enjoyed the good times, learned from the rough times, but through it all my love has never wavered."

Today:

"We will always be friends. I just want things to happen naturally with us. I dont want to be forced into a corner and said you have to do this or decide this. I thoroughly enjoy spending time with you...Can you be my friend and take things slow and try and get back to where we once were? You have to do what is best for you. I love you and always will as you have become a big part of my life and experiences but I dont want drama, arguments, etc. If you dont think that is possible or that you want to take things slowly with me then just tell me.."

I just need a non bias view on the matter. I really love this guy, but I am confused.
