If you had to choose between Portsmouth and Bradford (UK), which one would you prefer?

I want to study in one of these cities, but I am completely lost! So even information for the city would be helpful!

thank you in advance..

Update:

I have to decide where to study... The other places where I'm accepted are Coventry, Worcester and Aberystwyth, but I thought Portsmouth and Bradford are better for studying there

Given a choice between Portsmouth and Bradford, I think I'd emigrate.

Bradford has a nice museum and some decent curry houses and, er, that's about it. It is quite close to Leeds, though, which is its main redeeming feature.

Portsmouth is an overcrowded mess of a city (more overcrowded than London, which takes some beating!) and not even a cheap place to live. Its main attraction is that it's on the coast.

Seriously, why choose either of these two when there are at least 40 UK cities that would be better places to study in.

Well i'm Portsmouth born and bred and i'm afraid to say its a shithole, it is the most densely populated city in the country ( its only a tiny island connected to the mainland } Has a lot of poverty and deprived areas, it also has a very high crime rate drugs are a big problem here.

It used to be a great place to live and and the council have spent a lot of money in regeneration of the dockyard areas which used to employ thousands now only a couple of hundred, gunwharf quay and the spinnaker tower, but a lot of other areas are neglected as a consequence.

some of the local chavs ( I think the name was invented here if you see some of them out on a saturday night) don't take kindly to the students one was murdered here a couple of years ago.

It saddens me to see the state of portsmouth now compared to how it was.

I personally would prefer to study in Portsmouth. It is very near the sea and is quite a nice area. I have been to Bradford twice and it is a nice enough place but I think for a student, Portsmouth has more to offer.

i would chose portsmouth because it was very involved in WW2 (battle defences, offshore forts etc, etc) and older defences (inshore forts - you can visit fort nelson and fort brockenhurst
