teething does NOT cause a fever. Totally disregard that. Teething will never cause a fever. A virus causes a fever. A fever is designed to kill a virus. OR a vaccine may cause a fever, but not this many days later. The effects from a vaccine usually take place within 24 hours. The flu is going around as is gastrointestinal virus. Often times a fever will be the first thing to surface, with good reason it is your bodies way of attacking the virus. Plenty of liquids, motrin if necessary to bring down the fever. Lukewarm baths. No dairy, citrus, or spice foods. Breast milk is ok. (milk is never fun when it comes back up) Rest, plenty of sleep.

It's been almost two weeks since vaccine. Chances are could be the your child is developing an immunity to it. Remember vaccines are actually made up of the viruses itself and our body then develop an immunity. Just like a flu shot ever notice how people who had it get sick right after.

You also mention teething which then yes teething can cause a fever the concern would be how high is this fever and for how long? Did you give children's Tylenlo or Children's Advil to try bring fever down? Some tricks with teething are wet a face cloth stick it in freezer til frozen then take it back out and let child chew on it. Or try some popsciles. If the fever lasts more then a 3 days you should go straight to doctor it could be a virus such as cold, flu, or etc. I know right now there is a nasty stomach flu virus sweeping accross the country and it does have syptoms of fever vomiting diaherra chills running nose coughs not necessarily everyone has all same some people may only display a few. My youngest only had fever and was cranky. Lots of fluids to drink avoid milk products for time being till better. If your really concerned you should just go to doctor it doesn't hurt to make sure. It will always put your mind at ease.

With any fever get the child on tylenol, although its a sign of fighting off something, the fever can be harmful if not stopped asap. Cold towels etc. Beleive it or not fevers are some of the most lifetime damaging things that can happen to children. Its either or both more than likely.

Teething doesn't cause a fever nor at this date would the shots! Depending on the fever temp, it would be something that needs to be looked at - often infants (he is an infant) will have urinary tract infections with a slight fever and nothing else.

Yes. Usually when a baby starts teething they can get a mild fever and they can also get a mild fever from a vaccine. So it's either or. Id just watch the fever and if it gets up to 100.3, it's time to take the baby to the ER or pediatrician whichever. I'd try getting some baby orejel and/or some baby tylenol.

The shots and teething will cause a slight fever. Give him a small dose of infant Tylenol.

i would say watch the fever closely and how he's acting, symptoms of any kind of infection or illness, etc...if it continues without a source, you need to take him to the doc for a checkup..they might pick up something you wouldn't notice.....my dd has never had a fever with teething or that long after having her shots.....

    Yes.

If the fever hits 102, it's still an automatic trip to the ER, though

it could possibly be the mmr, symptoms after it can show up upto two weeks after wards. keep an eye on the fever and watch for other symptoms...if not its most likely due to to teething....if its prolonged with other symptoms get it checked to be sure. also with the mmr babies can sometimes get a rash:)

yes, babies can have a febrile reaction to immunizations and teething. if the fever is elevated at any point or continues for a prolonged period, or symptoms worsen, then would seek medical attention.
