Was it a bad idea sending soldiers over to Iraq?
I mean we should have been focused more in Afghanistan and not let Iraq get in the way. Most of the terrorist activities were going on in that area until Bush pulled out a huge majority of the troops away from Afghanistan and focused more on Iraq where there was no terrorist activity. Just a power mad dictator. Should we have stayed in Afghanistan?

We had to do something about Saddam Hussein, who bankrolled a great deal of Muslim Terrorism.
Personally I think that it would have been equally effective to blockade Iraq to prevent Iraq from exporting any oil at all.
That would have deprived Saddam Hussein of the revenue that he needed to bankroll Musliim Terrorism.
That would have left Saddam Husein powerless.

No it was a good idea. Saddam and bin Laden are both psychos. However Saddam was stronger because of his government influence. So we did the right thing with taking him down first. Bin Laden was less of a threat. Now Bin Laden is hiding in a cave. Also do not forget that when senior George Bush was in office he wanted to go after Saddam but Colin Powell (retard) advised him not to for some damned reason. Iraq was the country we should have invaded because it was like the center of all these other terrorist countries. Saddam was our problem because he was limiting freedom and torturing his own people. Taliban were everywhere also back then so Iraq was under some Talibann influence. If you ask any soldiers out there, they would gladly go in to Iraq again to protect their country. They think the people over here are wackos. I believe it is time to slowly pull our boys out of Iraq thougth. But remember, they know better. Most liberals hate the soldiers (vietnam= BABY KILLERS; We actually were winning because we had prevented communism from spreading and we made peace, no that they made us run away. This is what the liberal media does) A slow pulling of troops. Another point however. We should keep guantanamo. I saw soldiers and they said they were distant with their family because their family was chanting and holding signs saying "Close Gauntanamo, the people are innocent) The soldiers were guarding the prison and said that the people there were terrorists and should not be let go. hope this helps. this is the truth.

I say now, and I said then, that going into Iraq was a bad idea. For a number of reasons, and not just because we lost focus in Afghanistan. It is still a bad idea.

Blah blah blah. We are there now and are preparing to leave. NO OBAMA DID NOT DECIDE TO PULL OUT THE TROOPS NOR DID HE IN ANYWAY CONTRIBUTE TO THE RECENT MAJOR DROP IN VIOLENCE. Hussein (Saddam not Barak) killed hundreds of thousands of Kurds for fun and needed to be ousted regardless. As far as the WMDs why did everyone forget about MSNBC saying they confirmed the presence of nuclear radiation in northern Iraq with 3rd SFG. Why did everyone forget about the #2 of the iraqi air force admitting sending chemical and biological weapons to Syria disguised as humanitarian aid for the earthquake. Or what about the 500 tons of uranium that was found and sold by the iraqi gvt to a Canadian company just last year

We would probably be in a longer conflict in Afghanistan than Iraq, sad to say. Our troops are too worn out to be effective anymore.

Stop parroting the Obama talking points. The fact is that you were not there with even 1% of the information that Bush had. Why do you think Obama is now on board with the Patraus plan for Iraq withdrawal?

It did take attention away from the Afghan conflict.
After all, they harbored a terrorist that openly admits he attacked America.
We then attack a sovereign nation without provocation and toppled its government all in the name of preemption. We have more troops, equipment and resources in Iraq than Afghanistan. And because of our distraction, the Taliban is back; stronger than ever. Talk about soldiers dying in vain!
We should have not invaded Iraq.

Saddam had to be removed
Anyone that has ever been to Iraq while he was in power knows this
We should have taken his *** out when we were there the first time but as usual the politicians in DC lost their balls
