Front wheel bearing hub assembly?

Usually when one wheel bearing goes out, the other is not to far behind.

As said in the other answers, having both replaced could save you time and eventually money.

his thinking is to replace things in pair.. like when 1 headlight goes out, the other isn't far behind.

replacing both gives you a "reset" for the life of the bearings. 1 acts up, the other is next to go and you'll have to spend more money to do that bearing at a later time, getting inconveninced again.

You might save a few bucks by having him do both now.

the ABS sensor in the assembly is standard issue.

the mechanic sounds like he's trying to save you time, and also bill up his time too. In the end, you'll come out ahead, eventually.

Just make sure you ask for the old parts back. This ensures the job was done and keeps the mechanic honest. Unless it's a warranty issue, it's law that you can ask for your old parts back.

My Dad always said, never use a brand new part against an older part, you will have "Resistance" in one of the wheels, You want the vehicle to roll with the same accurate freeplay as the other.
