Methadone is also commonly used as an anti-addition and withdrawal drug from Heroin, as it is a synthetic opiod. Heroin/opium/morphine are natural opiods.

It is used to manage chronic pain, so I think in your case it could work quite well. It is also cheaper than many other strong pain relievers. But you would need to speak with your GP about this method as it has been noted by the US FDA that there have been a significant amount of cases of patients taking methadone for chronic pain and experiencing life threatening side effects. The withdrawal symptoms are less severe than natural opiods but last for much longer, too.

Forget this first two answers, although it is used to treat addiction it is and was invented as a pain-killer. It is superior for pain because it lasts so long, however this makes it very tricky to administer in the first stages of dosing. Methadone is not dangerous if administered and taken correctly, but I think it is for advanced users. It maintains a constant flat blood level over 24 hours which makes it less mentally addicting, and again it is superior over anything for pain.

Methadone would work great, but you must start out on this medication right! I am not going to write a huge essay here but that is it in a nutshell.

Life threatening side effects are non-existant if this drug is taken right! It is the safest of all opiates on all organs than any other opiate, (The evidence is overwhelming) but in time like anything else it does have long term detrimental effects, but no worse than anything else. And safer than anything else, but totally safe on everything?hmmm.

Therupeutic doses start from anywhere from 60mg to 110mg a day, a person must gradually be brought to this level and be monitored throughout. And never increase a daily dose by 10mg's.

well meth is a form of heroin, like a heroin substitute, and heroin is diamorphine which is pain relief. all opiods. so yeah i guess :)
