  • As a couple we're planning on getting into metal detecting. Would we be better off with 2 detectors at $250 each, or 1 $500 detector?

I believe the quality of the Fisher F22 @ $230 would be good enough, just looking for advice from couples that do this together as a hobby. Is it more fun when you both have detectors, or working it as a team with one?

  • What is the easiest way to clean semi-rough tongue and groove pine boards?

I'm staying in a cabin that's floor to ceiling tongue and groove pine. Looks to have a coat a sealer on it, and it's mostly rough. Rags seem to leave threads behind. The dirt has been there a while, and has cooking residue in some areas.

  • Unlocking a phone, Okay cell phone guru’s, I need some direction.?

I have a Sprint branded Galaxy S ll Epic 4G Touch. I canceled Sprint within a couple of months, and paid Cricket to flash it, and canceled them shortly thereafter. Since then I’ve used it as a MP3 player, web surfer, and so on. I now have the code to unlock it from Sprint. What can I do to use it again, as I really don’t want to buy another phone when this one still works for me, as I doubt it would be worth selling with the $350.00 I had to pay for it? And I don't want to pay for another flashing,

Can I wipe all Sprint and Cricket from the phone now that I have the code?

I don’t want a contract service since I’m moving to the mountains of KY, and have no idea which services work there.

  • 13 HP Tecumseh Model Number, HELP!!!?

I have a 13 HP Tecumseh engine missing the ID tag. I believe it's a late 90's model year, but I'll check the mowers DOM code later. It's the OHV style. Do you have one like this? Just need to order gaskets.

  • What is the test procedure for a 1994 GM 4.3 W code ignition coil.?

I have a 1994 S-10 Blazer, 4.3 W code engine, and I'm looking for the testing procedures, and ohm specs for the ignition coils. Everything I've seen online is so general, and I really don't want to buy another book.

  • 1994 Chevy Blazer troubleshooting, can you help?

Working on a 1994 S-10 Blazer, 2x4 4.3 W code. Last year it had a dying issue. I replaced the module, plugs, cap, rotor, and filters. Ran good for a good while, then she said the transmission was slipping. Not the case, it was a dead miss at a certain throttle position, great when hammered, at a cruising position, bomm,------- bomm-------bomm. You know that sound, sometimes smoothing out until the throttle was moved again. Not many complaints so I let her roll until it had become very bad. No codes ever came up. We started on it couple of weeks ago with replacing some rotted vacuum lines. Better on idle, still bad/worse dead spot. Replaced the TPS, ran great until it got warm, dead spot came back, then never left. Checked the cap and rotor, it had a meltdown like it was a victim of friction at the center, replaced them with quality parts. Read some on EGR issues with carbon buildup, so… phlegm off and cleaned with carb cleaner, mass air flow sensor cleaner on the sensor, cleaned egr but didn’t test. Very high dollar electric jobby. It ran good, fuel pressure was good, but sometimes drop a bit below spec. Parked it happy, and running.

Next morning wouldn’t hit a lick. I put the fuel pressure gauge back on, not a bit of pressure when I screwed the fitting on. Turned the key to on, pressure. Started, running rough, then would die.

When it finally stopped it’s dying spells we decided to run it to a friends 30 minutes away. Bomm,----------------bomm, all the way to their road and it died. Had pressure, no start. After 30 minutes it would start, running like crap. So,… MAP sensor no help/worsens, fuel pressure regulator, & fuel filter no help/same, fuel pump, an 4’ $30 piece of hose,………. Won’t hit a lick. Pressure close to spec, my gauge may be off. Put a test plug on a wire, it’s a yellow looking fire.

I hate this truck! 94 is the in-between on the code readers, just beyond the jumper wire setup. I can’t keep blindly throwing money at this thing. With all the temp sensors, ECM or whatever they call that one, I don’t know where to start. Could be a corroded wire anywhere!! What would you look at next?

I’m going to double check my spark on other wires, test the coil, and have the module checked at the Zone.

  • What auto maker used a Lion & 2 Crowns for a logo?

I have this old car grille, 50s or early 60s I'm guessing, that we're trying to figure out what it goes to. Only markings on it are a profile of a standing Lion, the Lion is gold on a red background, next to the Lion there are 2 stacked crowns on a black background. Who used that logo?

  • What would cause a Briggs & Stratton 6 HP to spit gas into the air filter?

I have a 2004 6hp B&S, horizontal shaft on a pressure washer. Under a load it runs fine, but as soon as you stop the spray it starts overloading and spits gas out of the carb. Never dies, but sounds like it wants to. After a few seconds it levels back out. I was gonna throw a kit in the carb, but it doesn't seem like a carb problem.

  • Could my symptoms be caused by a food, or other allergy?

I have a problem with my skin feeling like it's going through the stages of a bad sunburn. It will start burning so bad I can't touch it, and daily it will ease up but never goes away. Can't hardly stand to have clothes touch my skin. Has anyone heard of this symptom found to be an allergy, or toxin?

  • Have you used an Iphone or Ipod FM transmitter you like?

I'm hoping to connect a new Iphone 3GS to my car's stereo, that doesn't have AUX inputs. My choices are the FM transmitter, or tape deck adapter. The transmitter would be neater, but I haven't heard a lot of good reviews. Have you ever used one that you were happy with? Should I just go with the tape deck adapter?

  • Does methadone stop pain like I saw on a recent House MD episode?

I have pain pretty much from head to toe from Fibromyalgia, arthritis in most of my joints, and back & shoulder injuries. I've been on several different pain, anti depressants, and other medications over the years, but nothing ever stops the pain. I'm to the point where I don't want to live this way anymore as the pain gets worse as time goes on, and more disabilitating. I saw the recent House MD episode where he was taking methadone, and he was pain free. I know it's just a TV show, but does methadone work this way?

  • Rust in hot water heater, what can I do?

I usually flush my hot water heater every 4 months or so because I have a water softener that uses salt. I noticed my hot water getting rusty looking. I flushed it and chips of rust came out, a lot! Over the past couple of weeks I'd open the drain valve to let it flush a little more. I'm still getting rust flakes. Not as much, but enough to worry me. The water heater is only 3 or 4 years old. What can I do?
