As a couple we're planning on getting into metal detecting. Would we be better off with 2 detectors at $250 each, or 1 $500 detector?

I believe the quality of the Fisher F22 @ $230 would be good enough, just looking for advice from couples that do this together as a hobby. Is it more fun when you both have detectors, or working it as a team with one?

A good starting machine and not so expensive if your hobby wanes, not like breaking the bank.

Both is the better way to go, just keep in mind, they will interfere with each other so have to be used in a separation pattern.

Been digging a lot of years, you stay with it,the detectors will pay for themselves if nothing else.

I have a couple high end Whites detectors(DFX-Sierra Madre) a Garrett pinpointer, Predator digging tool and +. Nice for those week ends with no plans.

If you've got a detector each, you can cover more ground, verify each other's hits, etc.
