What happened to the music guest on SNL season 7 & 8?
I've been watching SNL on Netflix from season 1 on. I noticed season 7 and 8 had the music guest cut from the shows. Anyone know why?

SNL would has to get the rights to sell anything where an artist is singing a song from any record label by that label, which gets expensive for 20 different musical guests over a season. If Usher was to perform, for example, SNL would have to pay LaFace Records to show Usher's performance.
